I'm confused about the difference between : Advantage II, advantage multi, and advocate. Are these all names for the same thing?

Answer:Advantage Multi and Advocate are the exactly the same products. The producer (Bayer) markets it as Advocate in Europe. Advantage Multi / Advocate covers; fleas, heartworm and intestinal worms. However Advantage is a different product which only treats fleas.
